Hitchhiking: where would you like to go?

We are trying something new in Jelling. That is stops for hitchhiking - stops that will make it easier to commute together and give less traffic. But what would it take for you to hitchhike?

Untill June 2024 there are nine stops for hitchhiking in Vejle Municipality - specifically at Brandbjerg Hoejskole, in Jelling and Vejle.

In this relation, we are curious: what would it take for you to hitchhike instead of traveling solo by car? And where would you like us to consider a new hitchhiker's stop?

If you do hitchhike, we recommend:

1. Create a sign and write clearly where you are headed
2. Make it easy to see, that you are hitchhiking
3. Follow your intuition - say no to a ride, if it doesn't feel right to you.
4. Be patient - it may take awhile for somebody to pick you up.

The hitchhiking stops are an experiment as to, how we are able to commute in a sustainable way, while also creating less traffic in the cities.
